If the app is case sensitive, then having it spelled different than in the config is problematic. The only thing I can think of is that the path may need a trailing slash... or that the syntax for the path is totally wrong. What you need to do may involve finding a person with a sample working path ...

Reread the readme that comes with the emulator. If the names are case-sensitive, spelling is critical and may cause problems.

Saves is supposed to be setup as a folder within the snes9xgz folder (which I cannot tell from your post).

If you are using controller-keyboard mapping software, consider disabling it.

If it was intended to make it more 'native' as you put it then it shouldn't need Admin account access to use the program. I don't want to have to give my password to my family just so that they can play SNES games. That's why I can't get why they would change it to explicitly disallow writing to th...

Snes9x requires write access to its directory. You really think that silently writing into the virtual store is a desired result? I'd have to modify the manifest so that windows recognizes snes9x as a legacy application. It was the behaviour in 1.51 and also supports mutliple users using different ...

I believe it should work like the Windows port... just enter the code in WITH the dash "-" and it'll convert to the proper internal code. Don't worry about the code looking the same after you enter it, because it simply won't look the same.

Cheats will work on any emulator, regardless of port. This assumes the codes work for the game.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that you may have a bad copy of the game. Make sure Snes9x tells you it has a good checksum... and perhaps your problem will be fixed. When you mentioned other games... you mean other SNES games or other games entirely? It is a very significant differen...

It's not the APU emulation, it's the CPU emulation and the timing hacks around it. blargg's SPC is the most accurate... it's the Snes9x's CPU component is not what it needs to be to emulate particular games properly.

Re: Segmentation Fault in Linux

I wonder if the latest version of snes9x-gtk requires OpenGL 2 since every time I choose OpenGL for hardware aceleration I get no graphics on screen (audio plays just fine) and if I activate either "alllow non power of two textures" and/or "use pixel buffer objects" the window c...

You have to use the FMOD Directsound option, not FMOD A3D option.
