Re: Small patches for win32 by gocha
What do you mean by "not allowed by Windows?" Windows allows using all katakana for filename. The problem is simply caused by a poor filename processing. Uh, is there any English website which describes about the SJIS (MS932) trailer byte problem? I think they'll explain the things bett...

Re: Small patches for win32 by gocha
just curious, does the first patch allow all Japanese character named ROMs to process correctly or just that specific one? All characters. ソ is a character whose trailer byte is 0x5c (\). I just wanted to show an example of problematic input. It should process all characters as well. Isn't this b...

That is odd behavior; I have never had that. I assume you're talking the bar that contains the list of programs you currently have running, a clock, and the start button? I just to make sure.

Re: AVI recording turns off the sound
I recently got Snes9x to try to do some Let's Play stuffs. I launched my ROM and everything was working fine. I clicked Record AVI and the sound turned off. When I went back and watched the recording, though, there was sound. Any idea how I can get sound in game while recording? Also, any way to ma...

Re: How to soft reset?
Odditude is correct; not all games feature the ability to soft-reset via controller combo. It's better to use Snes9x's Hotkey for "pressing the reset button on the console", which by default, if I remember correctly, is Ctrl+R for Windows. Not sure about Mac.

Re: Can't press multiple buttons
If you're playing using a keyboard, keyboards can only accept input from 2-3 keys at one time, unless you have a really nice anti-ghosting keyboard, but it'd be better to just get a gamepad.

I'm going to have to say it's your code; we don't support homebrew programming here. Best of luck, though.

Re: Saved Game Issues - MacOS - Going Insane Please Help!
Oh, good good. I hate not knowing the lingo. what's your install path? are you playing from portable media (e.g. USB flash drive, external hard drive)? I'm not playing from an external device, and... Install path. Do you mean in what order did I save things, or perhaps where I am keeping all my inf...

That is correct; Save States (or Freezes) basically save the game's current "state" (hence the term). This includes the SRAM data that was included when the game had been last saved using the in-game save function.
So yes, you are correct.

Re: Xscreensaver not being prevented
I can't really such much more beyond that because I don't know Linux all that well.
Hopefully someone else can step up? At least my solution will work until something more permanent is set up... sorry I can't do anything more.

Re: Xscreensaver not being prevented
Xscreensaver doesn't seem to want to listen to the program anyway, which means you'll have to turn off the screensaver when playing. A hassle, I know, but there's no better fix ATM as far as I know.

Disable using the Custom Rom Dialog, or search the forums, there's a testbuild of Snes9x 1.53 x64 that fixes this issue... I forget the URL though.
