For side-scrollers, you might be able to fix the stuttering by turning on VSync.

That's a really interesting idea. Slow as all get-out, of course, but it'd be really useful in situations where either 1. multitouch doesn't work very well on your phone (like the Nexus One, alas) or 2. You want all of the screen real-estate available for the display. Calibrating it would be interes...

Give Rakashazi's suggestion above a try; turn off sound and direct textures, try again, see if it crashes.

Sorry to hear about the hardlock; I hate it too when I have to take the battery out to get it rebooted. :/

Also, thanks for not being a douche in this thread like you were in the other one.

There have been a couple issues with other people not being able to use controls in-game on Windows. I -think- DirectX input will solve that problem as well, so it's more a matter of killing two birds with one stone.

Absolute best way to play that game is if you have a friend/roommate/sibling who's willing to sit at the computer with you and play one of the other characters. Or if you can get all three characters being played by actual people. I had a blast playing that game with my brothers growing up.

Well, Windows itself has the DirectX set of APIs which are designed to bypass a lot of the operating system's layers of handling for input and output. There may be something running on your computer that's messing with your input and making it lag, and I know that SNES9x uses raw input instead of Di...

So it did help a little, especially with the audio... but your controller input's still lagging. When I get some free time, I think I'm going to see if I can cobble together a quick-and-dirty branch of SNES9x that uses DirectX for controls, and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, that means s...

Unfortunately, it's most likely an issue with the speed of your phone's processor. SNES9x is a pretty hardware-intensive app, especially the audio core. I have a 1GHz phone (Nexus One) and it just barely manages to keep up with things - I still get the occasional frame drop or sound hiccup.

Go to Input -> Hotkey Configuration and check what key is bound to 'show pressed keys'. Hit that while in-game so you can see how SNES9x is seeing your keypresses. Now, go back into Donkey Kong Country 2 (or 3, whatever), hop in the water and try to jump out. Make sure to hold the jump button for a ...

Unless I miss my guess, save states are processor-dependent. If that is the case, it unfortunately means that save states will be completely non-transferrable between phones and computers as they have very different processors. What you CAN do, however, is take an actual cartridge save (.srm) and co...

Your English is good enough to get the message across. That's good enough for me. :D I'm not an actual developer for SNES9x, but I -am- familiar with a few different programming languages, as well as a bit of experience working with the Win32 API and such. I just like to be helpful. Now then - back ...

Oof. Something of a Linux nub myself, but let's see what we can do. First off, I'm going to suggest the same thing I did to animefanatic - find the .conf file and rename it, then try starting SNES9x. Better yet, after renaming the .conf file, start up an xterm and launch SNES9x from there. If anythi...

As another workaround, have you tried mapping the network drive to a local drive letter? Some programs have trouble working with the \\share\etc. format that you get without doing drive mapping.

You'll have to just put up with it until Rakashazi publishes the app update. However, once that gets pushed it should be fixed for all phones that can run it, not just new ones.

Nah, it won't hurt anything. It sits in the notifications section of your taskbar - if you get tired of the controller acting like a keyboard, you can just right-click it and close it, and things will be back to normal. I agree with AoL - start with SNES9x's controller input, and only use Joy2Key if...

Hm. The controller lag intrigues me, especially since you mention it doesn't exist in any other software. That may be something we'll have to delve further into. I suspect it's related to the fact that SNES9x doesn't actually use DirectInput (I think). Might have to ask the other guys about that one...

Alright, one more thing to try then with the game controller (though it does sound increasingly like the poor thing's dead). If you always plug it into one of the two top USB ports, try using the bottom four (the ones on the PCI card). Or if you always use one of the four bottom ones, use one of the...

I'm curious, what's up with Star Fox? Both SNESoid and your port run it abnormally fast, which is funny because I thought that was traditionally a ZSNES problem that SNES9x got right. That's a problem nearly every emulator had except for BSNES. If you grab version 1.43 of SNES9x (which is the versi...
