Re: Clipping sprites?

Not as far as I can find in the config file. The idea is to have fast emulation that is as accurate as possible, so that SNES9x doesn't have to include a bunch of weird hacks to get specific games to run. Chances are there are some games that depend on that sprite flicker for pseudo-transparency, so...

Re: Clipping sprites?

That's a hardware limitation of the SNES. Only so many sprites can be displayed on a horizontal line at a given time, so if too many numbers are popping out of things from being hit, it'll cause that flicker. SNES9x includes the sprite flicker for accuracy.

Re: Saved Game Issues - MacOS - Going Insane Please Help!

One thing you may run across is save states. Be careful with those things! If you use save-states at all, they may overwrite your regular saves. Here's what happens. You play your game just fine, your characters are all level 10. Then you save your game afterwards, and call it a night. You come back...

Re: Snes9X EX (port for Android, iOS, WebOS)

So has anyone tried issuing Google a counter-DMCA yet? I miss being able to grab SNES9x off of the Android app store.

Re: SNES9x v7 Won't Open

Things to try:

Reboot your computer. Some aspect of SNES9x might still be in memory and preventing it from starting up again.

Redownload SNES9x 1.43 and stick it in a separate directory; your SNES9x.conf might have gotten corrupted.

Re: problems with snes9x

There is a good chance that the second IPS patch doesn't work with the first one. If the first one rearranges things in the ROM's data at all, and the second patch tries to change something in that data address, it will change the wrong thing and cause problems. You may also be using a patch that do...

Ahhh, that explains a lot. What it sounds like to me is that your computer can't keep up normal emulation speed while using the filters without OpenGL picking up the slack. Then when your sound buffer runs out and the system emulation hasn't quite caught up, you get a slight gap between the end of t...

To clarify OV2's comment a little, try going into Sound Settings and bring the Input Rate down by 100 or so, and make sure the 'Synchronize with sound core' option is checked.

So does it actually change what it says in Display Settings, or does it simply change your resolution quietly and leave the setting as-is? What happens if you change the Hi Res filter to one of Blargg's NTSC filters, and crank up the Fullscreen resolution to something like 1280x1024? Does fullscreen...

I'm trying to dig through the Android file system and find the location where the SNES9x EX preferences get saved, but I'm not having any luck. Its on an iTouch 4G ios 5.0.1 :? Oh. Erm. If the buttons don't show up in Windows properties, SNES9x isn't going to find it either. It's a decent way to test a controller.

If you have other SNES controllers, give 'em a try.

Another thing you can do is make an adapter yourself! http://mozy.org/snespad/

That's probably because Windows is hiding file extensions. Go to Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Folder Options -> View tab -> Advanced Settings -> uncheck Hide extensions for known file types There, now you can tell what the files actually are. (I always do this, for security rea...

Odd - I make the changes and they stay put just fine. Does it forget all your settings each time you quit and restart, or just those?
