Snes9x crashes while launching netplay Lan.

Hi,

I'm trying to play Super Bomberman 5 (2 players) through netplay but it makes Snes9x crash everytime.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Here are my specs:

-2 Mac Book Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (firewalls down)
-Snes9x 1.53 (113)
-Super Bomberman 5 (J) (though any other game won't work with netplay neither)

Here are the different steps until 2nd computer (client) snes9x crashes:

-I create a LAN, the two macs join it.
-I launch Snes9x on both computers.
-I launch Super Bomberman 5 on first mac, pause it, and click on netplay server to host the game.
-On second mac I click on netplay client and enter the IP of the first mac. The host sees it and it says 'connecting'
-On second mac, in order to finish connecting through netplay, Snes9x asks to locate and choose the rom.
-Snes9x crashes on second mac (client), no matter the rom is on desktop, in Macintosh HD, as soon as I click on "choose".

So, is there a special location to put the rom folder or something?
Is netplay still actually working?

The rom is ok, I've been playing solo.

Thank you, for your answer.

Solution was to download Snes9x 1.51, netplay won't work on 1.53.

Works through Lan and through the internet.

Bad news is Bomberman series are still a mess in 2 players mode.
In battle coop or versus, the game goes crazy as soon as a human player dies for the first time.

Each player has a different game going on its screen.
I mean what happens on one computer is absolutely not what happens on the other.

You can win on your computer, then you look at your mate screen, and see you're already dead...
It's still playable, but what's the point of 2 players mode if action and results in the game are different for each player?

Any idea?

It sounds like your network is experiencing high latency. Try running a traceroute (or whatever is the mac equivalent) between the computers. Your latency shouldn't be higher than 10ms if you're connecting via local network.
