Speed is 417% but the game is the same

When I hit the + sign it should speed up the game and make it super fast but when I hit that to 417% the game stays the same speed is there any reason why it is not speeding up??

Speed up requires frame skipping to be set to automatic and both vsync and audio sync to be disabled.
