Hello,
I found a strange issue that occour on my G5 DualCore 2.3 GHz under OSX 10.5.8 between MIDI/Audio settings and the output sampling frequency setting in Snes9x 1.53 for Mac (release 113).
I will try to explain how this is issue can be reproduced:
1) Open Audio/MIDI Config in Applications/Utility and look at the input and output frequency: it should be 44100 Hz for both, if not set them at this value.
2) From System Preferences on OSX choose a screenmode with 60Hz refresh
3) Open Snes9x settings panel and at Sound tab do the following settings:
Synchronize (on) 16 Bit Playback (on) Stereo (on) Reverse Stereo (off) Playback Rate: 44100 Hz, Output Interval (16 ms), Mix Buffer Lenght (100ms), Allow Lag (off), Input Rate: 32000 Hz
4) Open a Konami game, I used Animaniacs (NTSC version) for this purpose
5) Look at the colored bar moving up to down reavealing the Konami logo, its movemente is jerky
6) Now in the Snes9x Sound preferences set the Playback rate to 48000 or 32000 (or any other rate) and restart the game: the bar scrolling is perfect and fluid.
This does happen ONLY when "Sync" option in Snes9x sound preferences is enabled and ONLY when the Playback rate of Snes9x match the one in the Apple Midi/Audio settings.
This does happen also only under 10.5.8 and not under 10.4.11 (same G5 machine, same settings).
In Snes9x 1.52 this issue does not occour at all.
