Hey, sometimes (most of the time) when i want to start a game (Super Mario, or Street Fighter) there's a mess on the screen (many colours) and the whole Phone crashes ?
Some idea?

I've had another user report this a few days ago in an email and it appears to be an OpenGL driver
bug. Unfortunately he's not able to root the phone and tell me if the bug is fixed in 2.3. Which version of Android are you running and can you update to the latest?

Thank you for your quick anwser.
I have 2.2.
Maybe i wanted it to root in a few days, but i'm not sure yet.
So there's no idea, only root and bring it up to a higher version ?

Well, I could implement the glFinish() hack mentioned on the site but apparently it still won't work 100% of the time, so first I'd like to find out if the problem is still present in 2.3. All the posts about the bug mention 2.1 & 2.2 so hopefully that means it's fixed in the OS update. Please report back if you update your device and remember to backup your data before rooting

I'd like to add my voice to the original poster, I have the same symptoms. Using HTC Desire on Android 2.2. Unfortunately I can't root and 2.3 is still a long way away on my carrier. Please consider implementing a workaround if it's not too much trouble.
At the moment, I can turn the Desire on and run Snes9x once, any subsequent attempt to run it crashes the device. As a workaround, I can restart the device each time before I would like to run Snes9x, but that is a lot of hassle.

I sent a build with the hack enabled to the user who first reported the problem via email and am waiting to hear back if there's any improvement. If so, I'll make it an option that can be toggled since it slows down performance on other phones.

The recent 1.3.29 update on the Market includes a work-around for HTC Desire users still on 2.2. If anyone is still experiencing lock-ups please let me know.
