Snes9x v1.52 Window: Crash the instant DirectDraw selected.
Posted: Mon Jun 21, 2010 11:10 am
Hi, when configuring the display you can choose from Direct3D and Direct Draw, The instant I click Direct Draw from the drop down selection the emulator crashes.
I use the latest video drivers 257.21 x64.
edit: I was actually looking for a way to get Vsync to actually work but it seems Direct Draw under Snes9x lacks Vsync entirely, is that right? In Windows 7 I get the dreaded stutter and stuff caused by the DWM etc. which Ver Greeneyes has been able to fix for Bsnes.
I get the occasional crash when switching to/from real fullscreen in Snes9x with Direct3D, it doesn't crash every time or even instantly but it does crash fairly often. The relevance of this is it makes it hard to use an exclusive full screen mode reliably that would likely operate without the DWM getting in the road.
I use the latest video drivers 257.21 x64.
