problems w/ official snes controller for switch

trying to get the official super nintendo controller for switch to work on snes9x. it was working a few days ago, and now its just not. any help would be most welcome

• what platform are you using (windows, mac, linux)?
• what else changed on your pc (OS updates, Steam now running in background, Joy2Key or other macro software installed or updated, etc)?
• does the controller work in anything else besides snes9x?
