Yes man, i can confirm that in the Bs-x satellaview are a totall lack of interest from the emulation community, but not just in this emulator, practically every emulator is shady and inconclusive about the how to's, even the satella emulation wiki has no straight answers about nothing, the emulators described there are either inexistent or not exist anymore, really, the roms are scattered almost in no real shape and difference between them and even in pages like the bs zeldas wich are supposed to be the most worked of the roms, the posts about it are confusive, not giving straight answers on the how's and can't tell the difference about the options in emulators like higan wich has "slotted and not slotted"... i'm starting to think satella view emulation is something like a religion either you belive in it or not.
There are two ways you can load BS-X in snes9x 1.55:
you use "File->Load MultiCart", select the BS-X bios as Slot A and the game as Slot B.
you put the BS-X bios in the bios folder as either BS-X.bin or BS-X.bios
In the bsx town you then go to the house you start in front of, select the first option, and it should then display the game as an option.
Since there are some DRM-issues with some games and using the japanese bios might be a bit confusing I recommend you get the prepatched (english + no drm) bios from BS-X project download page. I tried loading BS-X F-Zero GP 2 with that bios and both methods worked.
I'm having an issue booting any BS game. I download the English BIOS as mentioned above, renamed it to BS-X.bin and put it into the BIOS folder. I added that as Cart A and chose F-Zero 2 (for example) as Cart B. I also have the stbios.bin file in the BIOS folder, too. When I boot Snes9X, it does show the English BIOS screen, but it never advances past that. It doesn't freeze or anything, it just doesn't allow you to go forward. Am I missing something?
Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I have been messing around with trying to get the Satellaview to emulate on Snes9x 1.59.2.
I have the English translated and no DRM BIOS from BS-X Project and have run it independently to generate a BS-X.srm file. I can get a few games to load like F-Zero 2 and Albert Odyssey, but any game that has a soundlink will not load (even after I've waiter about 10 minutes, its just a black screen). Additionally, I was really excited to see on BS-X Project's webpage where LuigiBlood shows screen shots of shopping in the town and buying the Sprint Shoes. However, all the buildings are closed in my BIOS town.
Is anyone able to share with me how to get the full functionality of the Town Who's Name was Stolen, or make SoundLink games functional?? Do I have to activate the netplay and connect to a specific server somewhere?
Luigiblood created the Satellawave program that creates a satellite-based simulation of Satellaview.
the generated files must be moved to the Satdata folder
I got an error when loading MultiCart on BS-X and I launch BS Super Mario USA Power Challenge World 1 with the patches, one is the base patch and the other is the translation patch. I decided not to link those as the actual site provided a download link to those ROMs and the site prohibits ROM giveouts. Emulator is snes9x v1.60.
I've found a site with the patches you described. If this is indeed the version you are trying to use then you should simply load that rom directly, without multicart. It should directly start the game (with some loading screens).
