saving problems

I just got this emulator a few days ago and i have been through forum after forum talking about save files and .smr files and i have tried everything but i decided to restart delete everything and re-download. my current problem is my emulator wont retain any save info in-game or save-state and it wont even remember the key configuration i put. please all i want to do is play chrono trigger http://imgur.com/MBDBWpB http://imgur.com/GXVIzsj
