Crackling sound when music is playing

Well, title says it all. When I'm playing a game and there is music I get a crackling sound in the backround. Can anyone help?

Try changing your sound settings [Alt + T] from "Snes9x Directsound" to "FMOD Directsound." Worked like a charm for me!
