Snes9x 1.53 wont load any games

I downloaded the 64bit version of snes and when i try to load any game it just stop responding and i have to close it using windows task manager.
Games work fine on Znes but not on snes.. what am i missing?

what's your zsnes path? your snes9x path? path to ROM images?

are your ROMs compressed (and if so, what format)?
