Super Mario Kart & Super Soccer Glitches

Post by Nintengod »

Hi all,

I'm new here, and have been using SNES9X via the Wii, and its superb.

I reported a couple of bugs on the Wii version board, but they suggested I report them here as they are SNES9X issues. Please let me know if there is any solution for these and if you are also experiencing them:

1. Super Mario Kart

On two player mode, player 2 on the bottom screen has NO audio at all. So any skidding round corners, going over item blocks, firing shells etc there is no sound. Player 1 has full sound.

Anyone else seen this?

2. Super Soccer

Ball glitch. When running up or down straight with ball, the ball flickers badly and glitches. This does not happen on the real game, as I own it!

Works for me. SMK seems to use the left stereo channel for player 1 and the right stereo channel for player 2. Are you using monaural sound? Are you sure your right speaker is outputting sound properly?

Ok, I'm not familiar with this game, but I tested it, and it works fine here. The ball is perfectly stable with no flicker whatsoever. Perhaps there is a vertical syncing tear at exactly the ball's Y position that's causing this?

My mistake on the Super Mario Kart front, it was a TV setting, it was just coming out of one channel. Problem solved, thanks!

Super Soccer remains a minor niggle though. I'm a perfectionist, and there is still "clipping" on the ball, and perhaps you're not noticing it. I know this occurs on the PC with ZSNES, and the same problem manifests itself on SNES9X on the Wii....but since the latter is a port, I suspect the same problem would occur on the PC version. (I haven't tested it on the PC to be honest).
