Philips controller won't work for snes9x V.1.51 !

I just bought a Philips controller (sgc2910) for snes9x V.1.51 and it won't work, I have xp and I loaded the controler properly and it works on my pc but i have to get it to work for snes9x now! Can you help?

If you are using controller-keyboard mapping software, consider disabling it.
