Re: Playing Smoothly but randomly after a bit it gets Choppy
Try enabling the DWMSync setting within the emulators configuration file and then retest your games.

Re: Stutter after using Turbo hotkey (OpenGL, Windows 10 v18
Ok, I just changed the regular fullscreen mode (Emulate Fullscreen option turned off ) to use the flags that should get the nvidia driver to recognize the window and skip the compositor. Try this with the regular vsync option without the DWMSync option. Use this build: https://ci.appveyor.com/proje...

Re: OpenGL (Windows) crashes while a ROM is loaded
After upgrading to 1.62.3-nwa this seems to be resolved.

Dynamic Refresh Rate & Windows 11
Apparently software that declares it self to Windows 11 that it's Dynamic Refresh Rate aware, will cause the DWM to expose actual VBlank Timing information to the program instead of a fake floaty value. Unsure if this is helpful to Snes9x.

Re: OpenGL (Windows) crashes while a ROM is loaded
Okay I've tested this with these nvidia drivers:
456.71
461.72
461.81 hotfix
OpenGL crashes with all of them while DWM Sync is enabled, I'm not even sure why as it did used to work! The emulator displays the yellow text with the checksum etc. when loading a ROM and then it quits.

Re: OpenGL (Windows) crashes while a ROM is loaded
Apparently the currently available 46x drivers are pretty unstable? I've been kinda holding out for newer releases before updating my drivers.

OpenGL (Windows) crashes while a ROM is loaded
The program freezes for 1 or 2 seconds and then silently quits with no error message. I'm... not entirely sure when the problem was first introduced as it has been a long time since I last used the emulator. Direct 3D works fine, which contributes to it taking a potentially long time to realize the ...

Re: Stutter after using Turbo hotkey (OpenGL, Windows 10 v1809)
I'd just like to re-affirm that DWMSync continues to be a gargantuan help on my system in regards to frame pacing. Programs + DWM tend to result in terrible frame pacing on my system and since the release of Vista I've yet to figure out "why", I also get the impression no one else has this...

Re: Discussion Regarding Xbox 1 Controller & Background Input Not Working
Chief#0025: For those wondering, it seems that Windows 10 has gamepad support for all UWP (universal windows programs), which includes most of the browsers you'd use, and the home screen, and it's that support that is intercepting the background input before it ever reaches SNES9x... It doesn't see...

Re: Stutter after using Turbo hotkey (OpenGL, Windows 10 v18
If I'm using OpenGL for the display output, pressing the Turbo button (Tab) and then releasing it to return to normal speed will result in the game (Zelda: A Link to the Past) becoming very choppy. The choppiness stops if I toggle the Menu Bar on and/or off with Escape. I'd use Direct3D but seeming...

Re: Backup SRAM upon State Load
Not all games need the SRAM data to be kept synchronized with the rest of the system in order for the game to function correctly.

Backup SRAM upon State Load
So if a player accidentally invokes a Load State, a old State, they can recover lost progress by replacing the SRAM with the backup and then restart emulation.

Re: Stutter after using Turbo hotkey (OpenGL, Windows 10 v18
Yep, only thing left to do is default the DWMSync option to True (or add a GUI option for it). 1 problem with Direct3D Fullscreen: Stuff rendered in the black side bars (4:3 aspect) doesn't clear when it should. For example see the green bar in the top right corner? That's the Geforce Experience ava...

Re: Stutter after using Turbo hotkey (OpenGL, Windows 10 v18
Here's a video of OpenGL with DWMTweaks set to ENABLED: https://youtu.be/UsJs6_sDvwk (stutter begins at around 40 seconds) I think if I add an option to run DWMFlush after every frame it'll decouple the OpenGL vsync from the compositor. I'll work on this and get a test build for you to try. That's ...

Make BearOso's download site the first one on website
It would be great if you could make https://sites.google.com/site/bearoso/ the first URL on the Downloads page. The other pages tend to lag when new releases are made (I wasn't even aware of v1.59 or v1.59.1 and only now became aware of v1.59.2 for example).

Re: Stutter after using Turbo hotkey (OpenGL, Windows 10 v18
v159.2, with and without that DWM setting enabled: Direct Draw: Works perfectly and so does the audio. Direct 3D: Works perfectly and so does the audio. This is a big improvement over v1.58 and older. OpenGL however, remains busted in the Frame Pacing department. The same behaviour of frame pacing i...
