As you all can see Snes9x.COM has been relocated to another host, which will remain
unnamed. As for the legal issues, I've read some nice articles about it and I've been
emailed by someone who is going to take the bar soon, and he noted the following:
Emulator programs themselves probably will not violate
US copyright law as long as they were fully 'reverse
engineered' and the developer did not use any
copyright protected material in their development.
Well, unless I used some mistery 'copyright protected material' then Snes9x is
perfectly legal, and unless I suffer from memory loss, I can conclude
that I did not use such material... Think about it, if I(or Gary) had the official stuff,
why would it take us 3 years to make the emulator... And even now it doesn't emulate the
SNES perfectly...
As for the new server, it's still a virtual account, so I hope they can handle the
load... And Nintendo, next time, try to email me! You never even contacted me, simply
explain your problem, and maybe we can even work something out !
