Updated DOS port
A small update has been done to the DOS port of Snes9x, there were a few small bugs, here's a list of changes:

Changes 1.26 to 1.26b
---------------------
-Fixed a bug in the config file support, which caused Snes9x to 'do nothing'
when no rom was loaded from the command line. Snes9x would fail to run
anything and would show only a black screen.
Now how come I didn't notice this earlier??
-Added an option to disable the GUI. Edit 'snes9x.ini' and set 'UseGUI = 0'.
-The debugger is back [for those who understand the concept of debugging].
Press F5 to start the debugger. Debugger options and commands can be found
in 'debugger.txt'.

DOS port updated to v1.26

Take all the stuff from v1.26, add these DOS specific changes:

  • Added Full Screen Bilinear Interpolation and Full Screen Bilinear Interpolation + Grid. These ought to look like 3Dfx mode in the windows port, and they are faster than their 2xSaI counterparts.
  • All full screen image processors have been partially rewritten using MMX.
  • Oops. Forgot to change the display drivers of modes 9 to 12 back from VESA2L to AUTODETECT. VESA 1.x/3.0, VBE/AF support is back.
  • Cheat codes can now be entered and removed from the GUI.
  • Cheatfinder finally works. At the moment it's only possible to search for
byte values, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

And you'll get the new DOS port which is available from the download section. So download it now!

Updated DOS version to v1.25!
All you DOS lovers out there, check it out, a new DOS version just came hot of
the compiler and is ready for your use. It has all the v1.25 features (except
the 3Dfx engine). As for the changes which occurred in the DOS version, here's a small
list:

  • New Image Processing engines:

Got a fast 450mhz PC and think 3dfx mode looks great? Take a look at this!

    2xSaI FULL SCREEN !!

    2xSaI FULL SCREEN + Grid !!

Slower than 3dfx though, since it's all done in software.

  • Added presets for the above full screen engines for some games, which

normally wouldn't fill the entire screen. [e.g. Chrono Trigger]

  • The DOS port now uses the SEAL library for sound.

  • Added reverse stereo option [edit the .ini file].

  • Added rapid fire. Press CTRL+[SNES key] to enable/disable for that key.

  • Added cheat dialogs from the old [0.xx] GUI. Nothing seems to be working

    though....

So if your still an avid DOS user, check out the new release now.

New BeOS release
It's another glorious day, a new BeOS port has been released. For all of you out there running BeOS R4, you should get the newest BeOS port. It's updated to v1.23a with loads of fixes and all the goodies that v1.23a has to offer.

On another note, the Webforum has been taken offline for the time being, it has been abused too much and will be replaced with a board that needs user registration.

Linux v1.25 and Source Code Released
The tile says it all. Not many changes this time:
1.25
- Added BS 24Mbit ROM memory map, for Derby Stallion 96 and Sound Novel-TCool.
No idea if it works. Thanks to Nose0000 for the info and code.
- Corrected unzip code not to loop forever if an encrypted zip file is loaded -
an error is generated instead.
- Changed relative SPC700 cycle length for Mortal Kombat 3 to fix sample
repeat problems - I wish I knew exactly how fast the SPC700 is clocked.
Maybe I should write a test ROM and run it on a real SNES?
1.24
- 3dfx speed hack back again, only disabled when Seiken 3 is loaded.
- Some minor SA-1 speed ups added - the SA-1 instruction skipping code will
have to wait until I have more time.

I'll post an update to the developers journal about current progress.
